Friday, October 16
12:00–2:00 p.m.
Hearty Provisions
415 Yuma St., Denver, CO 80204
Join us for the next 🌱Soil Web Connections gathering, this time around the table at Hearty Provisions.
We’ll share lunch, get a behind-the-scenes look at how food moves through a local food hub, and spend some time thinking together about the connections that carry food from seed to soil to distribution to plate, and eventually, back to soil again.
This is a relaxed, conversational gathering for growers, food system partners, community members, and anyone curious about the relationships beneath and around our food.
🌱 What We’ll Do
Tour the Hub
We’ll get an inside look at Hearty Provisions and learn more about the people, relationships, and logistics involved in moving locally grown food from farms into schools, institutions, businesses, and communities.
Share Lunch + Connect
We’ll gather over a seasonal lunch featuring food from Hearty’s network and make space for conversation with others working across different parts of our regional food system.
Follow the Soil Web
Through a few simple, hands-on soil health demonstrations, we’ll look at what healthy soil can tell us and why soil health matters far beyond the farm field.
Together, we’ll follow some of those connections from seed → soil → farm → distribution → plate → compost → soil, talking about how each part of the system depends on and shapes the others.
Because soil health isn’t just a production question. It connects to the food we eat, the farmers who grow it, the systems that move it, the communities it nourishes, and what we return to the soil at the end.
Come curious.
You don’t need to be a soil scientist, farmer, or food systems expert to join us.
🌱Soil Web Connections is about learning from one another, making connections across the food system, and getting our hands into some of the questions that connect us all.
Lunch is provided.
We’d love to have you around the table.
