Welcome to
the Ag & Food Lab
A resource network for farmers and food businesses building a sustainable future for local food systems.
The Lab supports farmers & food entrepreneurs along the local food supply chain in achieving their boldest ambitions through three interconnected programs:
The Farm
The Farm—35 acres in Bennett, Colorado—supports the start of the food chain by providing farmers with equitable access to land, tools, and hands-on training to grow food sustainably and build successful farm businesses.
The Hub
The Hub—a warehouse in Denver, Colorado—bridges the middle of the supply chain, offering business development support and vital infrastructure for storage and distribution to producers and food businesses.
The Market
The Market—a program distributing fresh food in the Metro Denver region—brings it full circle by connecting our producers to the communities that need healthy, local food the most.
Why The Lab?
Because our food system is broken—too many are struggling to fix it alone, and too many have been historically disenfranchised.
Farmers must adapt to changing conditions without adequate resources.
Entrepreneurship is a team effort—success grows where support is strong.
Communities
work tirelessly to feed folks with limited funding.
Through The Farm, The Hub, and The Market, we strengthen local food systems by bridging gaps in the supply chain to build a more sustainable, equitable future—together.
Our vision: A resilient local food ecosystem where farmers are valued, land is honored, and nutritious food is affordable and accessible to all.
The Values that Guide us
Sustainability starts with local food.
The path to a greener, healthier planet begins with investing in local agriculture. Supporting regenerative farming practices and reducing the distance food travels strengthens ecosystems, lowers emissions, and preserves resources for future generations.
Healthy food systems build thriving communities.
Access to fresh, nutritious food is the foundation of strong, connected communities. By supporting local farms and food businesses, we create jobs, improve health outcomes, and foster economic resilience where it’s needed most.
Equity grows from the ground up.
A just food system starts with fair opportunities for all. By investing in marginalized farmers and communities, we address systemic barriers and ensure that everyone has access to the land, tools, and support they need to thrive.
"Food is life—and food is hope. Change in food systems is not only possible, it is necessary. For people. For our planet."
